Wednesday, January 14, 2026	First Day to file for a place on General Election Ballot (for local political subdivisions only)
Friday, February 13, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.	Last Day to file for a place on General Election Ballot (for local political subdivisions only)
Thursday, April 2, 2026	Last Day to Register to Vote
Monday, April 20, 2026	First Day of Early Voting by Personal Appearance
Monday, April 20, 2026	Last Day to Apply for a Ballot By Mail (received, not postmarked)
Tuesday, April 28, 2026	Last Day of Early Voting by Personal Appearance
Saturday, May 2, 2026	Last Day to receive ballot by mail.

To qualify as a candidate, an individual must be:

a registered voter in the Dalhart Independent School District
a resident in the Dalhart Independent School District for six (6) months and a resident in the State of Texas for twelve (12) months prior to the filing deadline for the election.
18 years of age (or older) on the first day of the term to be filled at the election.
a person who meets all other requirements as provided by law stated in Texas Election Laws: Election Code: Subchapter A: Eligibility Requirements for Public Office: Section 141.001; Texas Education Code 11.066
