Notification of Terroristic Threat to all Parents of Dalhart ISD pursuant to Texas Ed. Code 37.113
We are notifying you that while in class, a student allegedly issued a statement which was regarded as a terroristic threat on the Intermediate Campus this morning. Upon learning of this possible threat, school administration immediately notified the Dalhart Police Department to assist with the matter. The administration, in cooperation with law enforcement, has implemented the appropriate safety precautions and protocols. No imminent threat to students or staff is perceived. Law enforcement will determine if criminal charges are warranted. The District will pursue appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with the District’s student code of conduct if a student has engaged in any misconduct concerning this threat.
Dalhart ISD administration places student safety as a top priority and will always consider a terroristic threat to be credible until demonstrated to be otherwise. We will continue to work diligently to keep your students and our staff safe from harm.
