DES Kinder students, staff and parents had a wonderful afternoon on their annual Easter egg hunt. We look forward to this activity every year!!

This morning we were blessed by Ms. Mari, Miss Bivi and the rest of our precious PreK/ Head Start students at our annual Spring Music program. We had a full house and appreciate all of the wonderful support we always receive from our parents and families!!

A huge thank you to Ms. Mari, our Music teacher, for a wonderful PreK / Head Start music program this morning. Our kiddos did an amazing job and we had so many parents and family members attend!!! We appreciate all the community support. Tomorrow we will have the other half of Head Start perform at 10. DeMots, Flores and Ward. We would love to have you attend!!

DES Celebrated St. Patrick's Day on Tuesday! Head Start students enjoyed Shamrock tattoos!!

Ms. Mari and Miss Bivi are hosting a PreK/ Head Start Music Program on March 26th and 27th. Parents and community members are welcome!! The programs will be at 9:45 am. More info to come!

Congratulations to the DES Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Abby Ziegler.

Our sweet Rosy is retiring tomorrow. So we shared a meal and cake in her honor. Thanks to all of the DES staff members that made this happen. Rosy will be extremely missed!

Dalhart Junior High and High School Student Councils are hosting a friendly competition.
They are dividing our schools into teams to collect sippy cups, bottles and soda can tabs to be donated to CareNet and the Ronald McDonald House. Dalhart Elementary and Dalhart High School will compete against Dalhart Intermediate and Dalhart Junior High.
Competition will kick off tomorrow during the home basketball games and will conclude on Friday, January 30. If you don't make it to the basketball game then drop off items at your school of choice.

The DES students and teachers have worked hard this week on redecorating their Library windows. DES 1st grade won the window decorating contest! Congratulations!!

Mrs. Encinias' 1st gd class was blessed by DHS student, Circe Johnson, today with tickets for the DHS Cheerleaders pancakes with Santa event later this month. We appreciate Circe and her family for their generosity over the last 4 years.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Congratulations to Mrs. Roth for being selected as DES teacher of the month for November. She was honored at the DISD School Board meeting on Monday.

Clarification for DES parents regarding changes in bus transportation... We are not changing the bus routes. We are changing the system that we use to check students on and off of buses. DISD wants to ensure the safety of our students and this new system will help us do so. Thank you, Dr. Hyer
