DES received a generous donation of $500 from Its All About Kids to purchase books for our Library and our book machine. We are so appreciative of their generosity!

Dalhart Elementary School is looking for a fun, energetic paraprofessional to work in Music class with Ms. Mari. Our students love Music class and Mari needs some assistance as we move into Music program months. If you are interested, please contact Dr. Elaine Hyer at DES and apply on the Dalhart website under educational aide.
DES parents - we are off to a fabulous start! Thank you for getting your littles to school on time. Our ADA period has changed to 8:30 am this year. That means that if your child arrives past 8:30 am they will be counted absent for the day. If you have any questions please call the DES front office.
DES welcomed our staff back to school on Monday. On Tuesday night we had our annual staff family potluck dinner. The food and fellowship were wonderful!!!

Tuesday night work night at the DES Habitat. A huge thank you to everyone that came out and helped tonight!





The DES Habitat hosted Read and Roar at The Park this morning. What a wonderful program put on by the Dallam Hartley County Library. The next opportunity to attend Read and Roar will be next Wednesday at 7th St park beginning at 10:30 am.





Thank you to everyone that has volunteered in the Habitat. We are so excited for our students and staff to utilize the Habitat this school year. Lights and flags are going up, rocks have been placed, the tepee has been built and the dirt work is completed for the stage. The garden is growing and we are excited to share the Habitat with everyone in the community!!

DES registration is just right around the corner! New to DES students will register in the DES Cafeteria on Monday, July 27th from 9 am - 3 pm. Returning students will register on Tuesday, July 28th from 9 am - 3 pm. Don't forget to bring all of the required documentation. Shots, proof of residency, your ID , etc.
We are still looking to fill a few positions for the 2026-2027 school year. Exciting things are happening at DES and we would love to visit with you about joining our team!

The Habitat Committee, friends, family and community members have been busy creating an outdoor learning facility East of our campus. If you haven't seen the raised gardens, the beautiful flowers or additional improvements drop by DES anytime! A special thanks to the Ritchey family, Atha family and Gordon family for all of their help and to everyone that has donated their time, energy and money to this wonderful space!
