DHS Life Skills class spent the day in Amarillo choosing a class pet! We had the best time with the Fish Pros workers and their amazing exhibits! We decided on fish, snails, and algae eaters.

Law Enforcement will be at each of these events. If you as a parent do not feel comfortable allowing your student to attend these events, we understand. Student safety is still our number one priority.
Tonight's Volleyball games against Sanford Fritch have been cancelled. If you purchased tickets on GoFan, you will be refunded.
Law enforcement has released students from the hold position on both the High School and Junior High Campus. The High School has been released from lunch. We have adjusted the schedule to allow everyone an opportunity to have lunch.
If you choose to check your students out and keep them at home today you are more than welcome to do so. This will not count against them in regards to absences for semester tests.

When law enforcement has completed their investigation DISD will make a media release and update everyone.
Today at 11:45 the Dalhart PD received notification from a tip reporting agency that a student brought a firearm to school today.
At the request of law enforcement we went into a holding pattern to make certain that our students were safe. At this time there is no creditable threat. At the request of law enforcement we will remain in a holding pattern to assure everyone’s safety. As soon as we are allowed to remove the students from a holding pattern we will do so. As soon as we have the authority to release more information we will do so.

THANK YOU Moore Family Farms for donating watermelons to our Culinary class. We shared watermelons with all DISD teachers, explored watermelon recipes, got creative with watermelon art, and enjoyed watermelon ice cream!!! Thank you for supporting our school. We love our community!
