A concerning TikTok trend is circulating among students at Dalhart ISD, encouraging them to insert pencil lead, foil, or other conductive materials into their school-issued Chromebook USB ports to make the device smoke or spark. While some users see it as a prank or viral challenge, this is both dangerous and illegal. Tampering with electronic devices in this way poses serious fire and electrical hazards. It can cause permanent damage to the Chromebook, lead to potential injury, and may include school disciplinary action or even criminal charges for property destruction. The lithium ion batteries, when short-circuited, can overheat, swell, catch fire, or even explode, posing a serious threat to the student and others nearby Educators and parents are urged to talk with students about the consequences of participating in such trends. School issued technology is not only a valuable learning tool but also school property therefore, intentionally damaging or destroying it is not a joke, it's destruction of school property.

Attention DISD Parents, This is in response to the notice that Dalhart ISD received last week from the Dalhart Hartley Counties Hospital District with the possible Clinical Diagnosis of a positive measles test result. The DHCHD notified Dalhart ISD this morning Monday March 3, 2025 that the lab reports showed this specific case to be negative. Therefore, there have been no known cases of Measles with in Dalhart ISD.

Dalhart ISD will have an early release on Thursday, March 6, for the Dalhart track meet. Classes will release at 12:00 and buses will run at 12:30. Lunch will be served on all campuses.

Due to continued hazardous road conditions due to ice DISD is canceling school for the day.

Due to icy road conditions Dalhart ISD will delay school 2 hours. Buses will run 2 hours late. School will start at 10:00.

Dalhart ISD will start at 10:00AM tomorrow Tuesday January 21st and buses will run on pavement only due to visibility and road conditions.

DISD will have an early release at 1:00 p.m. in order to travel to our Area Play-Off Game vs. Jim Ned at Lubbock Cooper High School Friday, November 22, 2024. Buses will run at 1:00 p.m., all campuses will serve lunch before we release.

Good Morning, Just wanted to let every everyone know that the school phones are down at the schools. We are working on it and they should be back up soon.

Law enforcement has released students from the hold position on both the High School and Junior High Campus. The High School has been released from lunch. We have adjusted the schedule to allow everyone an opportunity to have lunch. If you choose to check your students out and keep them at home today you are more than welcome to do so. This will not count against them in regards to absences for semester tests. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understand your concerns. Our number one responsibility is keeping your children safe at all times. When law enforcement has completed their investigation DISD will make a media release and update everyone.

Today at 11:45 the Dalhart PD received notification from a tip reporting agency that a student brought a firearm to school today. At the request of law enforcement we went into a holding pattern to make certain that our students were safe. At this time there is no creditable threat. At the request of law enforcement we will remain in a holding pattern to assure everyone’s safety. As soon as we are allowed to remove the students from a holding pattern we will do so. As soon as we have the authority to release more information we will do so.

DJHS Parents and Volleyball Fans. Due to AC issues in the DJHS Gyms all Home Junior High Volleyball games will be played in the Gyms on the DHS campus until further notice. Tonight’s games versus Highland Park will be on the DHS Campus. We do apologize for the inconvenience.
