This is Coach Peña's 2nd year at
Dalhart High School. She teaches Algebra 1 and coaches Girl's volleyball and Track. Prior to coming to Dalhart, she taught at Atkins Middle School in Lubbock ISD.
Coach Peña shares her philosophy with her students and players ... "You hold the key to your success. We will do everything to support you, but ultimately you determine your success."
Her favorite quote is "Do or do not. There is no try." -- Yoda

Next up today is Mrs. Lida Trusler ...
Coach Trusler has been teaching for 22 years, and has been at Dalhart for 18 of those 22 years. For her first four years, she taught at Barwise Jr. High in Wichita Falls ISD. She teaches both Algebra 1 and Algebra 2, and this is her first year for not also being a coach for Dalhart High School.
Her favorite quote is -- "I've failed over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed." -- Michael Jordan.

First up this morning is Mrs. April Carson ...
Mrs. Carson is in her 15th year at Dalhart. She has been a teacher here for 11 years, but prior to that she subbed for 4 years. Before coming to Dalhart, Mrs. Carson taught Geometry and Algebra in Dumas, was an Instructional Math Coach for Algebra 1 in North Kansas City, and also worked outside of teaching for 8+ years for Educational Assessment. Mrs. Carson currently teaches Geometry.
Her favorite motivational question is ... What would you attempt if you knew you could not fail?

First up is Camille Robbins ...
Mrs. Robbins has been a teacher for 13 total years. The last 11 years have been here at Dalhart High School, and her first 2 were at Hereford High School. She teaches Algebra II, Intervention Algebra, and Pre-Calculus Dual Credit. Her Dual Credit students get credit for College Algebra and Trigonometry.
Mrs. Robbins is also the Department Head for Math.
Her favorite quote comes from Malala Yousafzi -- "One child, one teacher, one book, one pen and change the world."

Next up is Coach Ruben Lopez ...
Coach Lopez has been teaching and coaching for 5 years, and this is his third year at Dalhart High School, coming to us from Midland-Greenwood. He teaches Math Models, coaches football, and is our Head Basketball Coach.
Coach Lopez's favorite quote is, "Having knowledge and wisdom is great, but being able to share that among the youth and community by building close relationships is undefeated.

Dalhart Interact Club will be hosting the annual Spooktacular Halloween Carnival at the Rita Blanca Coliseum Saturday, October 28th, 6:00-10:00. There will be food, a dunking booth, costume contest, music, games, and PRIZES!!!

There will be a blood drive on October 31st from 9:30 - 3:30.
There is a sign up sheet in the front office. You must be at least 16 years of age with a signed permission slip from your parents.
If you are 16 or 17 you must weigh at least 125 pounds.
If you are 18 you must weigh at least 110 pounds.
Make sure you eat a good meal and have plenty of fluids in your system before giving blood.
Please please consider giving blood. You could save the lives of many people by just donating.
